Whether on a staircase, a terrace or a balcony – a railing is very often needed. However, it is very time-consuming and usually cannot be flexibly changed afterwards. This system lets you place a 100% procedural railing that is very versatile and non-destructive.
Endless Possibilities!
With this system, more than 6400 combinations can be put together just based on the different styles per component. And these are only the different styles! Different heights, widths, number of bars, materials, etc. allow infinite combinations!
How it works:
To add a new railing to your scene you just need to add the system to an edge. Now you can extrude the vertices, subdivide the edges, reconnect them or move them around however you want. The system automatically calculates a complete railing, taking into account the distance to the ground and its angle, so that it is always perfectly adapted to any scene.
Settings
A lot of settings can be intimidating, right? So, to give you full control over the system while maintaining clarity, the settings are sorted by railing elements.
The workflow is non-destructive thanks to the geometry nodes, giving you permanent control over your scene. Of course the sizes, widths, styles, etc are adjustable for every element.
Automatic Floor Detection
The railing posts automatically adjust to the height and angle of the floor. Of course, to prevent clipping, the thickness of the floor fixation is also taken into account. If you don’t need the automatic floor detection, you can turn it off with one click!
Selective Roundness!
Corners can easily be made round with only one slider. With a vertex group you can choose which corner is rounded and how much!
