What’s new in Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.0.0 (released March 14, 2024)
The following functions have been added to Ver. 3.0.0.
Color Match to intuitively change colors by setting images and gradations for target colors (EX/PRO)
Color Match has been added to the Edit menu > Tonal Correction. You can adjust the colors of your artwork by importing another image or gradient.
Layer Comps for creating and managing differences (EX)
The Layer Comps palette has been added. Layer Comps make it easy to save different variations of your work made with different layers hidden or shown.
Filters to easily adjust the finish of your work
Chromatic aberration has been added to the Filter menu > Effect. You can express the color shift caused by misalignment of colored light.
Noise has been added to the Filter menu > Effect. You can apply a fine noise effect to make images look like film.
Retro film has been added to the Filter menu > Effect. Add chromatic aberration and noise at the same time to add a grainy texture and exposure variations that resembles film photographs.
Pencil drawing has been added to the Filter menu > Effect. You can adjust hatching and outline settings to apply a pencil texture to your work.
Integration with “Posemaniacs” 3D pose site
You can now import poses from the Posemaniacs website onto 3D layers. By selecting File menu > Import > 3D pose (Posemaniacs), you can import poses to 3D drawing figures from the Posemaniacs website. You can also load poses from Posemanics using Pose in the Tool Property palette when selecting a 3D drawing figure or 3D character material.
Support for 3D models with shape keys
A Shape setting has been added to the Sub Tool Detail palette for 3D materials in the Object category. You can use the shape keys of imported 3D objects to manipulate the shape of the mesh.
Enhanced Text Tools
The Circular text category has been added to the Sub Tool Detail palette when selecting a text layer with a Text tool or Object sub tool. When Circular text is on, you can type text along a circular path.
Added Clip Studio Comic, a new font for comics with a handwritten feel.
Save and import customized export presets
Settings in the Export Settings dialog can now be registered as a preset. You can load registered export presets to export again using the same settings. You can also register and load presets in the same way when exporting animations in the Export image sequence and Export animation cels dialogs.
Audio scrubbing
Audio scrubbing has been added to the Animation menu. Audio files will now replay when you move through frames on the timeline.
Clip Studio Tabmate 2
Clip Studio Paint Ver. 3.0.0 is compatible with the Clip Studio Tabmate 2 handheld device released in March 2024. You can connect it by selecting the Clip Studio Paint logo menu or File menu > CLIP STUDIO TABMATE > Register new Tabmate 2.
(iPad / iPhone / Galaxy / Android / Chromebook) New portal screen at launch
We have redesigned the interface of the portal screen that appears when starting the application. The same interface appears even if the device environment such as OS or browser is different. Tap Draw to switch to Clip Studio Paint.

Opentype features has been added to the Font category in the Sub Tool Detail palette when selecting a text layer with a Text tool or Object sub tool. When Contextual alternates is turned on, the appropriate glyph will be used depending on the position in the text and the surrounding characters.
In the Sub Tool Detail palette when selecting a text layer using the Text tool or the Object sub tool, 3.0.0 has been added to the Compatibility category under Version. Newly entered text in Ver. 3.0 or later is set to 3.0.0 by default.
In the New dialog, you can now overwrite existing presets by registering a new preset with the same name as the existing preset. However, you cannot overwrite the default presets.
You can now use the Liquify tool on multiple selected raster layers, selection layers, and layer masks. The effect will also be applied to layer masks that are linked to selected layers.
Align & Distribute layers and objects
Align/Distribute features have been added. You can align and distribute multiple objects and control points within one or multiple vector layers. You can find these features in the Align/Distribute palette or from Edit > Align/Distribute.
Enhanced 3D features
3D camera tilt correction (PRO/EX)
The Lens category has been added to the Sub Tool Detail palette when a 3D layer is selected with the Object tool. Lens shift allows you to adjust the drawing position on the 3D layer while keeping the camera view as it is. Vertical perspective > Straighten corrects vertical distortion in 3D space and changes to two-point perspective.
Fog setting to convey depth in 3D space
The Fog category has been added to the Sub Tool Detail palette when a 3D layer is selected with the Object tool. Turn on Enable Fog to add a fog-like effect that expresses depth in 3D space.
