This Blender geometry node setup will turn any curve into a braid completely procedurally. No matter what scale or on what object, this generator will take care of it. It is able to create both an animation-looking braid and a realistic-looking braid simply by ticking and unticking a box in the generator.

The best way to create your specific braid shape is by simply drawing the curve! It is incredibly simple and creates your custom braid shape with one simple drawing. I added a bunch of variables you can customize in the modifier panel that allows you to tweak all settings to fit the braid to your own specific needs.

Tutorial 1: Braidify by drawing curves & geometry nodes (Is lower performance, but usable for animating & rigging)
