NodeScapes is the future of Terrain Creation in Blender. Using a custom-built node editing suite, NodeScapes gives you unlimited possibilities to create whatever you want… within reason of course.

This left us with only one logical outcome, NODES!
Everyone who’s used Blender has used nodes. However, Blender doesn’t have a built-in node system for mesh generation. So we scratched our heads, did some research, and decided to build our own system.
We knew that something this new would need to be able to give the user an easy starting point to get to know the ropes. So we’ve included several custom-built presets for you to execute right out of the gate.
This allows anyone to jump right in, load a preset up, and start messing with the nodes to see what does what.
NodeScapes needed to hit 3 goals when we started this journey:
Something familiar (We all know what a node is)
Fun (What’s not fun about having endless possibilities?)
Fast (block it fast, detail it fast, finesse it fast)

Let’s break this down with some Key-Features
Presets
Right out the gate, you don’t need to mess with any nodes.
Find a preset, click it, add it. From then on, you can mess with as much, or as little as you like, to create something truly unique!
Heightmaps
Everyone knows what a heightmap is, and most Terrain toolsets let you use them.
But not many (if any) let you use them, and then non-destructively mess around with them! We do…
Full suite of nodes
We wouldn’t be very good, if we didn’t give you all the nodes you need!
So of course, you get all the nodes you’re familiar with. Then we build on that with custom nodes for more manipulation of your creations

Of course, in the real world, mountains are formed through millennia of erosion and plate formation.
Well, we’ve got the erosion covered so far, with Hydraulic and Thermal to start with.
Group nodes!
New for version 0.7, we’ve introduced ‘Groups’.
Groups allow you to build custom node trees, group them up, and make only certain values available, for a clearer, more easily controlled user-built preset!
